I woke up this morning and #johnmccainrepublican was trending, that Republicans Against Donald Trump group already had a short ad made, and the Lincoln Project was talking about it. So were the deplorables.
Seems Pete’s soundbite hit a nerve.
He already scrubbed it from Google trends

I appreciate the effort, but there’s not even a good way to poll or measure the effectiveness of things like this.
This bears a shocking resemblance to his pooping output over the same period
I think that’s a smart way to frame the debate.
Carl Sagan saw this coming, 25 years ago
Science is more than a body of knowledge; it is a way of thinking. I have a foreboding of an America in my children’s or grandchildren’s time—when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the key manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what’s true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness. The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30-second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance.
Debates aren’t worth shit. They’re run by a bipartisan committee that comes together and agrees on the terms of the debate in order to make each politician look their absolute best. It’s as much of a debate as Jerry Springer is a talk show.
The debate benefits Biden in no way. It will only reduce his turnout.
Debates matter mainly in how they influence the media narrative, which means that Biden’s lines should not really be crafted to appeal the strongest to people like most of us.
If Biden really wanted to win the debate, he’d hire Jeff Ross to write some roast material about Trump and use that in lieu of answering the questions.
Seriously!
Look at the mileage Kamala got out of zinging Biden (not being snarky sarcastic).
It works.
Media only cares about the best zingers.
Me: I once ate in a Serbian restaurant.
Trump: Thank you!
Mr. Trump’s tendency to turn to the courts — and the legal issues that have stemmed from norm-breaking characteristics of his presidency — helps explain how he and his affiliated political entities have spent at least $58.4 million in donations on legal and compliance work since 2015, according to a tally by The New York Times and the nonpartisan Campaign Finance Institute.
Donates his paycheck tho
