The Pozzidency of Donald J. Trump: Typhoid Donnie's Slow Hypoxic Demise **Sweat Thread** (updated 100x/minute)

I think if I could pick one single person to test positive next it would be Bill Barr.

Hoping he recovers so he can go back to killing people is not the moral high ground.

Since Donald Trump’s diagnosis, several members of his cabinet have declared themselves free of Covid-19:

  • Vice President Mike Pence
  • Secretary of State Mike Pompeo
  • Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin
  • Alex Azar, Secretary of Health and Human Services
  • Attorney General William Barr

That leaves 17 more cabinet members who’ve yet to speak publicly on their test results, including the secretaries of defence, energy, and the director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

Guessing these are not IQ tests.

Republican national security official endorsements:

Trump: 66
Biden: 130

This has to have the most insane week of political news cycles we’ve had in a long time.

-Trumps tax leak
-The debate
-Not denouncing white supremacy
-Brad Parscale arrested
-Jacob Wahl arrested
-Melanias war on Christmas and children
-COVID

And I’m sure I’m already forgetting something. What a week.

I hope it gets Wilbur Ross next.

I’ve often wondered to what extent they ask about personal/family medical history in the vetting process. If I were putting someone up for a lifetime appointment, I’d definitely want to know about things like past mental health issues, whether things like dementia run in your family, as well as chronic conditions that might lead to a shorter life, but maybe they don’t actually ask about that stuff. And even if they asked some questions, maybe Covid specifically never came up (especially because lots of people don’t necessarily think of Covid as something that could have long term health consequences even if you “recover”).

Anyone they haven’t publicly proclaimed negative is almost certainly positive.

Dementia Don better watch out.
