Garrison is in his 60s at least, right? The stay-tab has been around since the 1970s.
I think the pull tabs were phased out ~1975ish when aluminum cans became the standard.
My daughter loves the song Margaritaville. I had to explain how you could cut your heel on a pop top.

LOL, while doing research on this I was reminded that when Matthew Broderick needs to hack a payphone in Wargames (1983), he quickly finds a discarded ring tab outside the phone booth and somehow sticks it in the phone to get a dial tone.
In addition to ring tab, kids will need to ask their grandparents about the following mysterious terms: payphone, phone booth, dial tone.

I get pretty irked when cell phone calls end in movies and there’s a dial tone.
