That was basically it. I had to watch it for work, unfortunately. It was incredibly generic and low-energy. His largest applause line was when he said that he would protect the second amendment. At the end he signed some executive order, but no one I talked to knew anything about it.
What kind of job do you have where you have to watch a Trump speech?
Environmental attorney. Most of the work I do is related to the Everglades and the management of Lake Okeechobee, so I needed to monitor it just in case he said something crazy about the Lake. His buddies Brian Mast and Ron DeSantis both want to significantly change the Lake’s management in a way that could be a complete disaster for the water supply of most of south Florida. Mast has already tried several ways to get what he wants, so I wouldn’t put it past him to get Trump to make some crazy announcement. That’s why I need to find out what the EO said.
