This is Kenshin. His parents were strays I had been feeding. He was born in my closet with his four sisters. Technically not allowed to have pets cos lolrentals but meh. Found loving homes for the others.
I found a box of kittens in a box on the side of the road on my way to work. Took them to work with me and became quite popular lol. They came home with me until they were old enough to be rehomed. My dog and cat hated them with a passion, particularly my cat.
That’s a very good cat
On bed duty today is Winston, purebred Red Coonhound.
Got him under mysterious circumstances when another family either couldn’t or wouldn’t keep him. Very sensitive to the slightest cross word.
Always hungry and has a bad habit of begging for food. Loves me for letting him lick my cooking pans. Hey, I don’t have a dispose-all.
Loves to hunt critters, up to and including chickens. Not afraid of a fight.
Doesn’t care a whit about playing ball, and won’t go near open water.
Designated farm scapegoat-dog
Does he bey and howl? We did a trail walk over the summer with a local coonhound and beagle rescue - it was non stop beys and arrooooooos the entire time.
At certain times. Not when family is around. Loves to ride in the car and see/smell the world, and never makes a peep.
But at night, if he is allowed to roam the farm, he barks at everything. He’s on an electric fence since a foray into a chicken coup a couple miles away. Frustrated to not be able to go hunt.
Winston really is a beautiful dog. Tall and lanky. Even smells good. Has very expressive eyes. Sweet as all get out.
My 25 pound teddy bear, er, I mean dog, does big aroooos at the park and everyone laughs at her. Imagine this face trying to be intimidating.
10x. He was the first to open his eyes and became super attached before the others. He also plays fetch. (Well for a few times then it’s don’t touch dis is minez)
We have big windows in my lounge room and there is a ledge on the outside of them. For some reason it’s become the local thoroughfare for about 5 local cats! So we’ll be sitting in the lounge room quite content and a cat will mooch along our window, much to the disgust of Rex. Once when the window was open a cheeky beggar broke in and was strutting around like he owned the place! I’ll try and get some pics.
Lol. Exactly how my dilemma started. Took a couple of weeks to get to the trust point of pats then boom, taking over the place.
My girlfriend and her Chihuahua, Cocol (named after a Mexican bread), moved in about 7 weeks ago and I’ve already fallen in love with the little guy. He’s the ultimate lap dog and just wants to sleep about 20 hours a day, but always has enough energy to go on long walks with us.
He loves to be under blankets and while we’re sleeping will sometimes join us in the bed and then burrow all the way under the covers to the bottom of the bed, kinda comical.
The 2nd photo is a “dog house” I made him out of an old Amazon box as a joke, but he actually kinda likes it now.
Wow she doesn’t look real.
Is she a poodle? I was friends with a standard (full size) poodle named Bob once. He was a good boy.
lots of good boys and girls itt
She’s a golden doodle but I don’t know if she’s standard size, my friend here in the city and my cousin in NY have male ones that are both 80 pounds or a little more, she’s 40 pounds but that’s too big to be a mini.
My daughter is flying up from DC tomorrow to spend three days visiting me. I haven’t seen her since before COVID. Apparently, she and her boyfriend visited a shelter and I’m now a grandfather:
Chihuahuas are great and loyal dogs. I am not a dog person, but if I owned a dog I would get one of those. I’ve known a few, and they’re a little difficult to train sometimes, but overall a really solid breed.
They have a tendency to imprint very hard on their owners which makes them a bit territorial with strangers sometimes, I think that’s where they get the bad rap. They also are not very aware of their size so I notice you need to be careful around larger dogs with them.
