The Pets of Unstuck

Sapo sounds a lot like me. It was actually kinda weird.

You could just give the pup some peanut butter.

We got these ones from costco for the beagle who likes to chew the shit out of everything and they were great no stuffing just a squeaker inside , but as always they don’t seem have them anymore and the new ones they carried were complete trash just ended up throwing them out as they were so bad.

Here’s a link to there site I think not much info but seems they are in Cali https://thinkdogbydelca.com/

Also I think she got stung by a wasp the other night , I was looking at her and her muzzle was swelling up and did seem in some discomfort. Probably hard to tell in the pic.

Speaking of hounds

Some photos of the most recent beagle foster we took in. As expected, he was glued to Waylon.

Yeah after seeing this I think fostering is out the window and going to just keep him/her , they/them.

We get the Super Chewer box from BarkBox and it’s been pretty great. They’ll usually come with some sort of hard nylon toy that dogs can gnaw at (this sword has been her favorite for the past month or so since we got it; she’s been slowly sharpening the tip).

They also usually include a toy you can put kibble or treats inside like this:

And the toys that do have fabric are usually just fabric around a hard toy, designed to rip the fabric off to get to the toy underneath:

She doesn’t care about the gnome now that she’s ripped his clothes off but it was nice not having to worry about her inhaling a bunch of stuffing

Figured I’d do an update on this concern too. Turns out all we had to do was add a bit of water to her kibble and microwave it for a few seconds and she’s gulping it down like she used to. She must have just lost the taste for it.

In b4 news headline “Dog owners found stabbed to death with chew toy”

Its probably safe to give to a dog but if have a cat you’re at serious risk of stabbing.

I don’t know what that means, but I’m sure he is still a very good dog.

Poppy aka the “Popster” aka Popperoni had her check up today. Great progress on her herniated disc. Going to just the pain med once per day, no more anti inflammatory.

Also good news with the trainer. We are able to get her harness on for short walks and even pick her up occasionally. She is much more her old self.

Poppy on the left. Jake on the right continues to do well from his various maladies of the past year.

My pup still has the same soft moose toy he got when he was born 7 years ago. Soft grips every thing.

Any good thoughts you guys want to throw our way would be greatly appreciated. Our 20 year old took a turn for the worse this morning. He was goimg about his normal routine when he started swooning and fell over on his side. He made it back to his feet then stumbled again so I carried him to the bed.

Since that point he has been unable to use his front legs. He has been attempting to get up, but every time we put him on his feet he falls face first forward. We took him to the emergency vet and they are runnimg diagnostic tests right now. The doc said he looks dehydrated and may have thrown a clot, which could lead to a stroke, but who knows. We should hopefully know something in the next couple hours

Thank you all.

Its amazing how profound and deep this level of hurt is. In a moment you dont know if youll ever feel happy again.

My entire face and skull hurts from the near constant tears Ive shed.

And yet we made the right decision. But damn if it doesnt feel like it and that ill question it forever.
