I think we’ve done enough. Let’s just let this play out. I’m good and tired of the US government ‘doing things’ overseas. If we’d have minded our own business to start with those protests wouldn’t be necessary ffs.

Is De Niro (or anybody else) advocating US government intervention? I thought the sentiment was more like “Why can’t Americans muster a similar response to oppression, inequality, and corruption.”

I think most Americans are probably aware of Hong Kong, but mostly unaware of recent unrest in Ecuador, Lebanon, and now Chile.
