If you’re going to rebuild that seems the smart play. Wilson and Lockett both somewhat old, so unless it’s a quick rebuild, better to just move them (and any other veterans with value) now.

Is that because post-June 1 you can spread the dead money over a few seasons? If so, I think better to just bite the bullet now and take the hit. 2022 is going to suck anyway if you’re cleaning house, so better to come out of it with a clean cap.
