The NFL Thread 2: 1. T Swift

unless seahawks tie, Lions tie and win are the same thing, probably won’t matter but the meltdown if a situation happened in that game where that was a consideration

I’m not sure who gets if they all tie.

I think it’s still Seattle. They are all tied in the standings now and the ESPN tiebreaker explanation for Seattle is as follows:

“Wins tie break over Detroit based on head-to-head win percentage. Division tie break was initially used to eliminate Green Bay (Detroit wins tie break over Green Bay based on head-to-head win percentage).”

Tie games all around this weekend wouldn’t affect those tiebreakers.

That’s wild. They’d need exactly a tie if they tied themselves earlier in the day. Those would be some odds.

Found something I don’t understand:

If you set the ESPN Playoff Machine so that the home teams win everything, except DET/GB and LAR/SEA are both ties, then Detroit gets in???

Even weirder, flipping WAS/DAL to a DAL win gets Seattle in? I don’t get it.

Playoff Predictors shows the same thing (including the DAL/WAS game mattering). WTF?

Detroit wins a three-way tiebreaker with Washington and Seattle.

That’s why switching Dallas to a win puts Seattle in, that makes it a two-way tie between Detroit and Seattle, which the Seahawks win.

Ah, I see. Thanks.

browns at redskins was on fox yday

For those complaining that flexing GB/DET to SNF is such an unfair bullshit gift to the Packers, just wait until you see the officiating in that game.

The fuck we don’t

We will play to win and get to 9-8 and to FTP

this is a huge culture game for us even if Seahawks win.

Ah, I forgot about Washington. They are eliminated, but it sounds like they would be a factor if they end up tied with GB, DET, and SEA.

Surprised Vikings and Bears isn’t in the 2nd slate.

Pretty big gap between being the #3 seed and facing the Giants vs being the #2 seed and facing Aaron Rodgers off a 5 game win streak (assuming they beat Detroit)

doesn’t matter, SF can still get a 1 seed, guess you mean in case Phi is up 30 at half or something so SF can put the backups in if Min loses but even that these days…

Funny, but there’s a 0% chance the lions bench a healthy starter unless the game is a blowout.

There’s a couple guys who have been playing through stuff like pro bowl C Frank Ragnow who I could see getting rested though if Seahawks win. The line probably accounts for this already somewhat, but it is something to watch for.

That guy is still in the league!? Every week I feel like my mind is blown finding out some backup QB somewhere is still in the league.

The NFL is weird like that. So many guys are drafted, start for a year or two, then wash out of the league. Meanwhile there are other guys who have 12 year careers while never seriously being considered for a starting job.

I imagine it’s mostly ego why some don’t make it as backups. I have no idea if Sudfeld is any good. He was added after camp after they cut their other backups. He looked pretty bad in last week’s garbage time.

I wonder what NFL QB made the most money on a per pass basis.

I mean Chase Daniel has been paid over $36 million for 266 passes over the course of 14 seasons. $1 million for every 7.3 passes attempted.

I think a lot of back up qbs end up keeping their jobs because they are like assistant qb coaches for the starters.
