I don’t think it shows that the ball didn’t hit the ground 100% either. He could have short-hopped it just a little, or grabbed the ball simultaneously with it hitting the ground. Need a CSI enhance.
Yeah there was another huge controversy over that same rule in Superbowl V. https://youtu.be/hwaTLSZz7w8?t=505
My stepdad, huge Cowboys fan, always insisted Mel Renfro never tipped the ball.
It was a dumb rule and I’m glad it’s gone.
I don’t see how it could have taken the bounce the way it did and not hit Tatum.
Yeah this. I mean it’s possible he stuck his hand in in a way that happened to drive it into Fuqua’s hand which then made the ball take a huge ricochet, in which case he was just incredibly unlucky that it happened in a way that made it look 99% like his own hand propelled it.
In real time refs are gonna go by the physics of what they see to determine what happened too, in the pre-replay era you just have to deal with it.
I thought the rule used to be a tipped ball couldn’t go forward and be caught, but tipped backwards was fine.

Sounds like the XFL is going to act as a sort of NFL minor league system.
From reading about the IR play, the rule back then was if an offensive player touches it (Fuqua), he’s the only guy who can catch it. But,if a defensive player (Tatum) touches it before/at the same time/after the offensive player (Fuqua) then any offensive player can catch it.
standard
He kind of deserves this, doesn’t he?
Headline I never thought I would see
Super Bowl champions Rams expected to hire Kentucky’s OC as their new OC.
Obviously can’t blame Liam Coen in the least for taking the job, and think he would be an idiot for not taking the job…but Rams just gotta piss me off again so soon. At least it says something good about the state of Kentucky’s football program when the Rams are taking our OC.

Were Buck and Aikmen the longest currently paired NFL broadcasters up to this point? They can’t be too far out of the longest pairings of all time I’d think.
in this would be shocking but it’s not anymore news a pro bowler retires in his prime
Ali Marpet retires at 28 years old
I think Madden/Summerall were around longer
EDIT: Yeah, but only by 1 season! Can’t believe how long Aikman has been in broadcasting. Hasn’t felt like over 20 years.
Packers “hosting” a game in London this year. Guess that means Jordan Love is definitely going to be the starting QB?
Good decision, $7m for a RB considering his play last year is terrible. Wonder if any team takes him.
Trubisky propaganda day on the twitters I see
oh someone’s gonna start him gl with that
Hopefully saved his money and more importantly his brain.
I am afraid it is too late for the later by the time most get into the NFL.
