Yeah, I kind of was aware of that. I just didnāt realize people took that much offense at it. Iāve really only seen it on 22. In SE, for example, people routinely call fans of some team or player slappies. The implication is that they love the the player/team so much that player/team can do no wrong in their eyes. Iāve never seen anyone take offense at that term. Iām sure Iāve called people slappies dozens of times. Donāt recall anyone indicating that they were offended by it.
I kind of feel like Iāve been throwing around the c-word on the reg, without realizing how bad it was.
I prefer thinking that slappy is short for slapnuts and suggests that someone masturbates to everything done by the object of their fandom.

I agree with 2-2.5 assessment but to each their own. Iām unaware of usage beyond things meaning obviously foolish devotion to someone/something that doesnāt warrant the devotion.
