Jets havenât got much from those picks either. They traded the two 2021 picks they got to move up in the first for Alijah Vera-Tucker whoâs been average as an OL and Garrett Wilson has only played one game. Bradley McDougald was injured in week 7 of his first season as a Jet and placed on IR. Heâs now a free agent.
Not quite Jets draft blunders material but still bad. And if Sauce Gardner continues to impress, we might have the next coming of Revis Island for the Jets.
The whole saga the way that trade went down in the media was infuriating to me.
It started with âOMG, Jamal Adams told the media he wants a trade!1one!!â Well, whoâs Jamal Adams? -the unspoken question lingers. âWhy, heâs an all pro safety for the Jets! You must not watch a lot of football, he might be the best young safety in the game!â
Meanwhile, that whole time I was saying that actually, Kevin Byard is the best young safety in the game, and basically nobody knows about or talks about him.
(I still think this, although now he has more competition from guys like Jordan Poyer, and Minkah Fitzpatrickâs pff grades suck, but he makes crazy plays)
Byard did eventually get paid, so Iâm gonna say I was proven right. It just pissed me off when that dominated the NFL news cycle, when this guy got famous for being an unhappy Jet and then laughably overpaidâŠ. in money and draft capital, when he hadnât won anything and barely played notably well on abysmal teams.
