The Neverending Picture Game

I actually had to work to pick that one from my collection. Hard to find a picture with the right balance of difficult but not impossible.

My avatar.

eta: Nevmind, first search was off-base. Searched again and got it.

For a pub quiz I used to do, one of the bits was to determine who a celebrity was based on a zoomed in part of their face. I sucked balls at it but it was well-received.

Honestly I don’t know if it’s even doable. I had no idea it was so insanely easy to find basically any image within a fraction of a second. They never had this problem afaik on the old site, but those were screen caps from movies so maybe that’s why? But the images had to come from somewhere

It’s complicated and I won’t pretend to know how it works, but I think GIS uses more than just pixel info. Screen caps that were pulled from a video frame (as in you actually pull it yourself, not one you found with a search engine) should work well as long as it’s not a super common one (e.g., Leo DiCaprio meme face from Inception).

Also, for anyone using pics from their own camera/phone, might want to make sure the site you’re uploading it to strips the EXIF and metadata. I know imgur does on all uploads but not sure of other potential hosts like this forum software.

So who posts next?

you should decide that based on the clues that several of us deduced. Like, which of us had the most critical clue?

Microbet, you’re next

You should @ him, bob.

.

I guess I’ll go then. I posted this in one of the LC threads with no context, but it will work here. this one should be much easier

Yeah I’d plump for the Bilbao Guggenheim.

So disappointed that I didn’t go when I visited.

Alex Trebek would give the win to jalfrezi here.

I’d better wait for ratification from @skydiver8

Nah its your win.

Google images failed for me, so let’s try it…
