I’m biased as a Virginia alum, I feel like Benkert is definitely better than Jordan Love (who knows, Love might become really good) and could be decent backup/spot starter in the league. From what I can tell, he’s pretty happy to be on a team and learn from Rodgers, considering he’s already been a PS squad guy and then cut by the Falcons, but it also kind of sucks that he’s stuck behind someone just because that guy was a first-round pick.
I like that he uses the Packers skin when he plays Fortnite.
I’m trying to remember what I thought about him. I know I liked him as a backup who could come in and be ok if the starter was hurt. I don’t think I ever thought he’d become great. Was probably a little surprised that he didn’t at least have a below-average career as a starter.
With two minutes left? That’s shit that you do with like <15 seconds on the clock. Also what do you gain there, like 7 yards to the new free kick spot with nobody rushing the kicker?
Of course today, the correct play by a mile is to go for it there (not that any coach would) since punting means giving up the tie to any competent offense like 70% of the time (going for it and missing probably 95%, your only hope would be a missed FG).
