The National Football League

Well like I alluded above I’m sure it will work out for them because he won’t be asked to do much and he’s got a great system and QB to work with but nevertheless

I mean their MO for the past few years has been to just bring in guys with talent who washed out elsewhere and turn them into all pros, as long as it works you can afford to light draft picks on fire I guess

They overpaid a little but they typically stockpile mid round picks because they realize it is a crap shoot overall.

Also it will be one of the last picks of the second round so its closer to a third rounder. Big difference between the 33rd pick and the 64th pick.

Bengals going to Bungles and not trade AJGreen. What a joke franchise.

Sanu is an excellent receiver and is exactly what they need.

For some incomprehensible reason, AJ doesn’t want to be traded. I like him a lot, and he’s generally been the most down to earth normal person off the field, but man, this makes me question his intelligence.

I can understand not wanting to be traded unless it’s to a real playoff favorite. Patriots, Chiefs, New Orleans, Green Bay. Why disrupt your life for 1, maaaybe 2 playoff games.

For comparison to the Sanu trade, the 49ers gave a 3rd and a 4th for 32 year old Emmanuel Sanders plus a 5th.

I think Sanders is a FA after this year also while Sanu is under contract at a reasonable price through next season.

the thing that I find curious, is that the Pats already have 3 relatively big-name WRs… Edelman, Josh Gordon and Dorsett. The trio has been banged-up though, so I guess it’s for depth.

oops Hi again, thread

it’s a late 2nd at best and your QB is 42. Win now baby.

Pats also have a bunch of extra picks every year anyway. The last 2nd round pick they took is already on another team. They definitely swing for the fences in that round, either hitting a HR or totally busting, only guy in between ended up okay at the position but mostly known for special teams.

Have the Jets scored yet?

Does anyone think the 49ers are actually good?

I’m now convinced that coaching matters more than anything else in the league, significantly so. And shannahan is good. So. Maybe?

I can see them being good overall but also getting their ass kicked by another good team. If Mahomes, Brees, or Rogers have an above ave day against them, how do they keep up scoring wise? I can’t see them scoring 40 points b/c the other team scored 38.

(Long-time 49ers fan here)

Booger McFarland said during MNF that he had them as no.1. He’s an idiot though.

The 49ers front seven is the best in the league. The secondary needs improvement.

Garoppolo is overrated and overpaid. Maybe with more experience he will be able to live up to the hype. For now he is mediocre.
What doesn’t help it that SF has for a while now been looking for a true WR1. Right now the top receiver is Kittle who might be the best TE in the league. There is nice depth at the RB position with Breida, Coleman, Mostert and Wilson. Some article on nfl.com had their OL in the Top5. I don’t see it.

So they are good but still maybe a WR1, CB1/2 plus a good OL addition away from being great.

Thanks, I appreciate that.

They’re gonna be a fun team to watch. That division, too, holy crap. Seattle showing their vulnerability last week, while the Rams looked back-on-track in a serious way with Jalen Ramsey in the fold.

Josh Gordon placed on IR.

Gee I wonder why the traded for Sanu.
