Massively different skillsets required for success. Because the talent gap between the best and worst players in college is so much greater than in the NFL, the #1 skill college coaches need is recruiting. If you can consistently bring in top tier talent, you can cover for a lot of other deficiencies.

I think he was just going to sit on PUP list all year unless he got the extra money he wanted. So Pats had a choice to pay him to do nothing while he accrues his last year and then hits FA, trade him (reports say they tried and no takers), give him more money and probably more years, or cut him and get back about $6 mm against the cap. What a fucking mess.

Welp, I just discovered my first sign of mental decline (no comments, please). I was looking up some stock images and saw one for the Philadelphia Eagles where the description referred to the team as 2018 Superbowl champion. For a good minute, I was like, āWhat? No. What are they talking about?ā
Then I saw a pic of someone from the Eagles holding up the Lombardi Trophy and remembered the Nick Foles era.
