I just went and purged my cable basket, got rid of my last RCA monitor cable and 30 pin Apple connector and most of my coax cable scraps… Felt good.

the solution here is to just keep at most ONE of everything. I now have ONE mini USB and ONE micro USB cable.

I threw away all DVI cables but I did keep a VGA (even though I don’t think I own any devices that either generate or receive VGA anymore)

I threw away an old charger that I was sure didn’t go to anything. Turns out it went to an old external hard drive. I found this out when I tried to use the wrong charger on said drive and blew it up.

Aaaaaannnd of course that drive had the only backup of my website, whereas every other file is backed up in like 3 places, and that website is gone now, and I really would like to have some of the stuff on it.

I also threw away a key because I was sure it went to nothing. How much space does a key take up? None. But I threw it away anyway. Turns out it was to our laundry room and it’s a nightmare to replace. I = genious.

I have a bunch of various-age devices around the place. Luckily my barn is plenty big enough to keep two totes full of random cables/chargers etc. Scored many cable and charger wins by rummaging thru them. They’re staying!
