I don’t like the straight across the cheek line like this. I always dip down some, and it migrates between beard trimmings.
I also do a fade from the sideburns to the chin. So I do the sideburns with a 1, then do a thin strip at a 2, then another thin strip at a 3, etc.
I usually hit the chin by 5, then always do the chin at 8.
As far as the jawline, I start about where Vance’s is on the outside, then do a line from there to make a point under the chin (with the line coming from the other side) that goes in pretty deep, much deeper than his here. I definitely don’t leave any hair on the neck just below the chin.
And I keep below the lower lip trimmed super short and trim back around the around the upper lip. Don’t like the Chewbacca look.
He’s just trimming everything at a 3 or 4 and calling it a day.
Barbers don’t know shit about beards unless they specialize in it. They’re just giving him a uniform trim with tight edges (but in the wrong places imo).
You really need to go to a hairdresser and a beard barber if you’re going to be running for VPOTUS.
I find shaving annoying so I just let it grow and deal with the patchiness. One of the benefits of always wearing a mask at work during the pandemic was letting it grow in past the awkward phases without anyone really seeing it.
I can’t remember the last time I’ve shaved, nor do I ever let it grow out to beard length. I just use a clipper every 7-10 days b/c I think I look best with a bit of stubble and also it’s incredibly low maintenance like this.
Even that would not be possible for me, there are large swaths of my face where literally no hair grows. And even where it does grow it is sparse. After a few days I look unwell.
