The Ginger C(h)at LC Thread for Sundry Chatchitting (2026 remix edition)

Heh. The first time I got pulled over, I was about a mile away from home and my parents happened to be driving back from the store at the same time. They were coming from the other direction, so I didn’t see them but my car had a very distinct paint job that they clocked across the highway. The cop only gave me a warning so I had ~ 3 minutes where I thought I was in the clear.

Yeah, I am basically calling this now. They aren’t doing robots like everyone insists. Instead, they will leave the physical labor jobs for the plebs.

Angie Tuffnell stepped outside into –40°C weather to start her car and was immediately attacked by a starving moose huddled near her dryer vent. Her son, Shawn, ran outside and punched the animal in the face, Splitting its slip but it didn’t retreat.

He grabbed a shovel, striking the animal three times, but the moose kept coming. As he retreated into the house, the moose followed, pushing its front shoulders through the doorframe.

When the animal turned back toward his mother, who was still pinned on the frozen ground, Shawn grabbed it by the ears and nostrils. He wrestled the animal into a headlock, pinning its jaw against his stomach to avoid being bitten, using the doorframe as a shield against its hooves. To protect his pinned mother, Shawn wrestled the moose into a headlock. The struggle ended when Shawn used a .22-calibre rifle to kill the animal

I’m surprised you can kill a moose with a .22. Those guys are terrifying.

In the story he says he shot it ~15 times. And also the moose was weak from starvation.

I can’t imagine fighting a bull moose long enough to get off 15 shots, Jesus Christ. I liked my mom and all, but that would be a circle-of-life moment for me. Those things scare me more than bears.

The craziest part of the story to me is where it says he split the moose’s lip when he punched it.

unless he field dressed it and had it for lunch, I’m calling bullchit on this whole story

That horse fell in reverse of where that punch would have sent it. It needs to be fired not celebrated.

There’s a great scene in the Jimmy Cagney movie Lady Killer where he gets a job as an extra on a prison movie. He’s told to punch someone. After he does it, the director fires him basically saying it looked fake. The first AD goes over to the person who was punched and says to the director, ‘he’s out cold’.

he spun the horse’s jaw around and knocked it out, he’s not pushing it down

Then have the guy make a left handed punch which will also look more convincing to the camera.

little-known fact about this scene: mongo wasn’t supposed to punch the horse, but he was very mad that day and lashed out at the animal unprovoked. mel brooks loved it and kept it in the film

I was just browsing online for budget laptops, just to see what’s out there, and clicked on a link for one at Walmart. Price listed at $409.99, which the listing said was $119.88/lb. So that’s nice that I can really compare apples to apples.

The fan on my laptop (I’m pretty sure it’s the gpu fan) sounds like it has a bearing that has gone bad. Does anyone have experience replacing a fan in a laptop? Is it a feasible thing to do?
