My wife’s company is owned by a PE firm and she says that is a real position and it’s an amazing gig. You just have an occasional meeting with people at the company and help guide them through whatever they’re doing. She deals with a guy at the firm with a marketing background, he barely works, doesn’t really have real responsibility and gets paid mid 6 figures.
