Meh. The journalistic convention to frame everything as “allegedly” or “accused of” until a conviction is handed down is kinda stupid sometimes, but it’s not malicious, and they’re pretty consistent with it.

I think journalists fall into a habit of covering their butts with terms like “allegedly” or “accused of” when in reality, they can often be a bit more forthcoming. In this case, there does not appear to be mistaken identity, nor is there any dispute that he put his feet up on Pelosi’s desk. He’s admitted doing it. So, just stating he’s the guy who put his feet up on Pelosi’s desk is true and you don’t need to say “accused of”, except in the sense that he is in court, and thus needs to be “accused” of something to explain why he is there.
Not sure if this sounds way too fake to be real, or way too real to be fake
