Yeah… I’d prefer this framing to the historically accurate version though. If you tell them that white supremacists have been running the country since the founding they might get even more unwilling to help.
And they still failed despite shockingly low amount of police resistance. Like imagine trying to rob a bank and there is two 70 year old security guards without a gun and the police don’t show up for 4 hours and you still fail to get the money lol.
I feel like there were definitely trained people there with bad intentions but they didn’t have much of a plan. If they had been well prepared with a good plan we’d have a bunch of dead congress people.

This reminds me. I was watching this true crime show about this lady who killed her kids. (She shit herself in the arm to try and cover it up).
Anyways she told this tall tale of a violent perpetrator whom she got away from by fake throwing the car keys into the bushes and then driving away.
She even re-enacted it on film for the police.

Right but its super obvious they would. Proper planning would expect that and they’d be catch them in their hiding spot with guns.
Like if there was a trained militia group of say 15 with guns and they were really dedicated they could have easily killed dozens of them.
They moved rapidly forward until a secret service agent shot a woman in the throat. They would have to be willing to most likely die due to get into a gunfight with the vps secret service detail.
Anyone with a chance of pulling it off would understand how big a bite they would be trying to chew.

The cross over between trained militia with guns and clueless idiots who don’t know what they are doing is high.
Some of this can be explained by poor planning, disarray and surprise rather than lack of intent.
They likely thought that the cops would stand aside and let them grab a few Congressman. They were 90% right. The cops guarding that door were convinced to stand down and let them through. If that one cop hadn’t shot the first woman through, they likely would have been successful.
