This should be his campaign slogan.
They should definitely think about putting it on some merch if itâs not too late in the game for that kind of thing.
I donât really understand the polls - I thought biden looked very weak and kind of humiliated. He was looking down a lot and obviously flustered by Trump interrupting.
But I guess people actually wanted to hear what Biden had to say, which I absolutely donât really care about so maybe thatâs why I saw it that way.
Theyâre already selling shirts with this.
wat
I didnt watch the last 30 minutes so maybe he finished stronger but what I saw was a man who was bullied for an hour straight and barely fought back.
i mean he was bullied but i think he played it ok, its hard to do much when constantly getting interrupted and talked over. Def not humiliated though, polls showed Trump came off worse as to how peoples opinions changed of both
edit: he told him to shut up, called him a clown, made numerous other comments about it, not sure what else he coulda said other than STFU which i wanted him to do but he will never do obv
Sadly, I think this still ingrained in Latin American culture and explains the polling. Maybe translation issues someone else mentioned also played a part but this gets to the heart of it.
Well I managed to watch the whole thing now.
Against an average candidate Bidenâs slowness and intermittent uncertainty might be show stoppers but against Trumpâs overwhelmingly crass performance theyâre hardly noticed.
You mean the non-scientific Telemundo poll that was bandwagoned by Trump supporters? Or are you talking about a different poll?
In the past he said Austria and the Austrians found it quite amusing when they were told they live in forest cities. Calling Austria a major country is also a bit of a stretch and it makes me unsure how aware he is that Austria =!= Australia.
I will admit, I think I drastically over-estimated how well the yelling bully routine plays. Iâve spent a ton of time around dumb white males, and they love that shit. But that group was already voting for Trump. For some reason I thought it played well with white women too, though the morning after reaction indicates that is decidedly not the case.
Iâm not sure what he could have done either, I just thought what trump did worked. Obviously the polling indicates otherwise - but itâs surprising to me. I guess at best for trump it was just red meat for his base, for anyone else it was obnoxious.
I think thats kinda the point. Bullying a ânasty womanâ who is clearly (justifiably) patronizing you comes of way better than bullyiny a nice old man who doesnât really fight back.
Sure proud boys were happy, but it didnât play as well for pumpkin latte crowds imo.
The best part by far was the ending where Trump went into a fuge state and started shouting out a bunch of Fox News sound bites. Itâs completely incomprehensible unless you routinely watch Sean Hannity, the core chunk of undecideds are left thinking heâs a ranting lunatic.
I liked the tree cities too.
White women in swing states are on the receiving end of that shit day after day after day. That may be a factor. Trump 2016 is the audacious confident independent man they thought they were marrying, Trump 2020 is the unemployed asshole they actually married that yells at them to cope with their inadequacies and failures.
I kind of want to visit one after Covid. Do they have real ewoks?
Biden missed a bunch of opportunities to run up the score but overall he did well enough in part due to Trumpâs unforced errors. More important than the actual debate is the narrative that forms after and it is decidedly negative for Trump.
omg a Joe v The Volcano mention
