The Final Debate: Biden v Trump the Shitshow wrapped in a clusterfuck having sex with a goatshow inside a dumpster fire

They didn’t really watch it

No that is only the case if they cut his mike off while talking. If they actually stuck to the two minute rule, and said “Now Trump will talk for two minutes, Mr. Biden you’re muted” and vice versa it would be indisputably fair. It would allow Trump to lie uninterrupted for two minutes but it’s a net positive for Joe. Every time he builds up some steam and addresses the camera directly he smokes it.

A nation of hyper-privileged people unwittingly living on borrowed time and dollars and used to being able to brag about stuff finds its dominance and industries challenged by a non-white nation.

THE HORROR. THE SHAME.

Holy shit did this debate fuck my head up. I managed to go to sleep after but I had a fucked up dream about Kramer and George from Seinfeld watching the debate at the golf course clubhouse and Kramer was so disturbed that it wrecked his golf game, so he had to hire a secret golf coach but it offended George who was trying to teach Kramer how to golf so Kramer and the golf coach had to sneak around like they were having an affair. I think it might be one of my top 10 favorite Seinfeld episodes now.

No this is what’s known as confirmation bias. You’ve repeatedly admitted you know next to nothing about this stuff and are purposefully keeping yourself ignorant of politics (“too much information is baaaad!”) so you’re looking for confirmation that you sticking your head in the sand was the smart move. It’s not. We all think less of you for it. The debate was fascinating and there was a lot to learn from it.

When you make a bad argument just to offend someone it just makes you look like an asshole.

Yeah, I thought that was clearly prepared in order to head off the “Dems are personally attacking a woman of faith” bullshit that we are already hearing. The problem is Joe isn’t quite artful enough to deliver that point in a nuanced way. So instead it just came out a bit like “she’s a great woman, no problem here!”

So apparently Hillary crushed in polls after debate #1 and so did Romney. So not a great predictor of the election. But, in 2016 you heard an awful lot of “Yes, he’s crude and a bit bombastic, BUT…” He’s an outsider. We need someone to shake up Washington. I want change. Etc. Etc. Not seeing that from last night.

Said another way:

There was quite literally nothing to learn from that debate. Not one piece of new information. It was pure downside. Distilled -ev. There wasn’t a single redeeming second.

The reality is most of the stuff we want to hear isn’t the stuff that would help Joe win PA, WI, FL, AZ etc.

I mean he still isn’t good at saying stuff to win those people either, but of course he isn’t going to say what we want either.

Sadly this election did come down to suburban type moderate whites because it doesnt look like everyone else is going to turn out like we expected. Well I mean they might but they didnt in the primaries

It had a good beat and you could dance to it. I give it 85 points.

The primary voters said nah and by a huge margin

Odds there is a second debate?

100% IMO. Biden can’t walk and Trump won’t.

“I can’t in good conscious join another debate where Trump will spread hate and lies. The first debate was a low point for our great democracy and I am sad I will forever be connected to it. Rather than further debasing the office of the president, I will be holding a town hall where voters get to ask me questions directly”

lol if you read the thread when the debate started it’s exactly like the 2018 election thread was when the returns started rolling in

Bull. You just think it’s mean to hold her accountable.

She spouts this nonsense:

"Another thing with information and so is, that all, like ALL mass media, no matter left or right, are designed to trigger amygdala. I mean the mass media compete for our attention, and the best possible way to get the attention is to write in the way that causes emotional reaction.

Do I need that? Clearly not. So my strat is to look for about 5 min a day on the head lines. And that’s it. I am sufficiently informed to have impact, where I want to have impact, and to ignore all noise."

And then disingenuously comes into a thread where we’ve done a second by second breakdown of a 1.5 hour debate and, without really reading it, asks for confirmation that she “didn’t miss anything and it was just a shit show, right?”

No. That’s embarrassing. She just wants confirmation that her ignorance and the heaps of privilege that allow her to mostly ignore politics are ACTUALLY some sort of enlightened efficiency. That’s laughable.
