Or in other words Ferrari needs to stop being Ferrari.
Another weekend hyped by Sky as the weekend Mercedes can fight for the win but so far they are still at least 0.3 to 0.5 of the pace which is massive.
Itâs looking even bleaker than that based on these FP2 #s:
Could be a fun battle up front, but Sainz is taking a 10-place grid penalty so will have his work cut out trying to get back into podium contention.
Mercedes went backwards on what should have been their best track. Split by a McLaren which can get interesting at the start.
How can we tell who the best drivers really are when the cars they drive have so much influence over their results?
The difference between them and their team mate. Also the teams have a pretty good idea where the car performances are relatively to each other so they know if a driver is getting close to the max out of a car or not. That is why the top drivers will end up in the best cars most of the time. But for example there is no way to tell if Verstappen is faster than Leclerc as they were never team mates and both beat Sainz, the team mate they have in common.
Another important thing is making mistakes of course but you can learn from your mistakes while in general drivers do not get a lot faster when older they just make less mistakes.
So Hamilton is one of the greatest drivers ever even though he spent most of his career in dominant cars as he beat all his team mates, makes very little mistakes and has driven qualification laps that are almost perfect but saying he is the goat is wrong because in racing that is even harder to determine than other sports. It is much more a team sport than most people realise.
Leclerc :((
What in the world happened!
Wow. That scream from Leclerc was powerful. Feel for the guy.
Ferrari reliability taking all the fun out of the battle between Verstappen and Leclerc. Either that or Leclerc took too much out of his rear tires as I donât think that was just a mistake.
What are Ferrari doing? Dude is in the middle of a takeover they are telling him to box?
LOLFERRARI⌠Iâve watched a total of like 6 races and I feel like I could make less mistakes than they do.
Lolol checo that was not good sir
Perez really not performing this weekend.
Where was the pace? Even the Mercs were crushing him. Sainz probably wouldâve easily opened up a 5 second gap and pushed Checo back into 5th.

Vettel announced his retirement, which doesnât come as much of a surprise. I hope this means a seat for Oscar Piastri either at Aston Martin or Williams. It could even be at Haas since I read Schumacher could move to Aston Martin to fill Vettelâs seat.
Also time for Williams to replace Latifi. He hasnât had a good car to drive, but he has been clearly outmatched by Russell first and now Albon.
For anyone that wants to start following the sport this podcast episode helped immensely. It covers every team, driver, car, rule, ectâŚ
Pole position for Russel! That was an incredible surprise. Red Bull shit the bed. Tomorrow should be fun.
