The Crypto Thread

Yeah of course, if it’s one someone, but if it’s a bunch of someones then that’s a strong bet. If that seems stupid then yeah, no argument here, but it’s not even a controversial strategy. Even the HFT supercomputers do it.

The emotions I have in poker are pretty much the same in trading. You make money because somebody else does some stupid shit, but I still can’t help but to be amazed and annoyed and everything in between.

Somebody wants to buy over half a million dollars of XEM, in a bull market, and looking at the order changes for fifteen minutes can tell you it’s not a spoof, so what’s the play? Sell off into it of course!

Update, a year later in microtrading time:

Of course. I mean, obviously I’m smarter than everybody and everybody’s bot but lord have mercy.

i wish i knew what any of this mean

BTC hit 50K for a brief moment before meeting resistance. But it’s only a matter of time before it breaches 50K and begins to march toward its next milestones:

-1 trillion market cap
-100K price

This was shared on 22 but gonna post here. Epic video, makes me feel dumb for rebalancing and reducing some of my crypto holdings

Yeah, the lengthy Saylor video I posted earlier in this thread, where he goes into much greater depth about his thesis, is what finally shifted my view on Bitcoin. I’m now all in on dollar-cost-averaging BTC just as I do stocks, ignoring the short-term price action, and viewing it as a growing long-term asset.

As skeptical as I have been on this topic, I am doing the same, with plans to hold for the foreseeable future. I think you’re missing out on diversification in your investments at this point if you’re not.

If you just want to own some and not actually use it for anything probably PayPal. I used Gemini, Coinbase is popular but some here where bashing it so I went with one of 6ixx’s recs

He mentioned Gemini and Kraken

Cash App is also easily accessible.

Kraken has been decent so far. Although it does seem the euro/btc price is always a little lower than the USD/btc price (conversion rate included)

i bought a little for poker on cash app a couple days ago and it was a piece of cake, have used coinbase in the past as well

It mean if somebody really really wants to buy something, let them. Maybe even buy it before them instead of selling it to them.

Basically, the first image shows my modest buy orders right above the big buy order, then the price popping +2% in the next 5 minutes based on the big buy order. It popped before my full buy order was even filled but it was a nice spot.

that’s like dividing by zero
