Trial starts next week!
For those new to this shit show, among his seemingly limitless felonies (36 as of April, surely many more now) is stealing $4 million from a mentally ill, paraplegic client, stealing $2.5 million to buy a private jet, trying to extort $20 million from Nike and not filing tax returns for lots of years.
Is he still esquire or has he already been disbarred?
He got arrested during his disbarrment hearing so still esquire.
The Nike shakedown was amazing. He just blatantly, explicitly tried to extort a multibajillion-dollar company while being recorded by their lawyers and somehow thought he would get away with that.

They’re going to find him guilty of trying to do all the crimes.

And he would’ve gotten away with it if it weren’t for you meddling kids!
I legit did not know his trial had even started

He should just tell the judge, “I thought I was on AOL.”
From what i can tell of avanatti’s legal career, he was super aggressive, amoral but generally competent, pilfered from clients, and lived as large as one can. He’s got a lot of trump in him. He rejected significant settlements in favor of trials and was desperate when a big case was overturned on appeal. He seemed to go after Nike when the gravy train was empty, but it was a bad case and Nike has good lawyers. They can give him 12 months or 12 years, but he’ll never practice law or have access to significant income again.
I’m sure he’ll be a Fox News contributor eventually.
Avenatti is like that guy who tried to blackmail Batman in that Nolan movie only Nike has 200x more money than Bruce Wayne.
He was watching and even participating in peak Nothing Matters and mistakenly thought that Nothing Matters applied to everyone, not just elected Nazis, cops, and billonaire heads of multinational corporations. Easy mistake to make when you’re getting high off the fumes.
