Wait, Lindsey Graham is calling bullshit on this latest effort? When I saw a list of Republican Senators who are trying to kiss Trump’s ass and subvert the election, I guess my eyes just glazed over and I just assumed his name was on there. He’s still got a few days to pull a 180, of course.

He hitched his wagon to Trump because he knew he was up for reelection in 2020. Now he’s got til 2026, and Trump, and everything Graham did w.r.t. Trump, will be forgotten.

Gee, maybe you don’t get credit when you constantly undermine him and tell people to do the opposite of what he says to do

I thought this as well, but he was definitely parroting Trump’s claims directly after Election Day, after his re-election was already sewn up and after he didn’t need Trump anymore. At that point I figured he was addicted to having maximum popularity with the Republican base and influence within the party, since he didn’t have this immediate re-election motive anymore.

Mitch probably gave him permission to suck farts out of Trumps ass as much as he wanted, but told him this is a step too far. At the end of the day Mitch controls most of these guys. The ones with presidential aspirations obv don’t give a fuck about Mitch though.

Are we sure Mitch firmly controls the GOP Senate? They only need 26 fully insane people to dump him and if you go down the list you’ll quickly realize Mitch is EASILY a top third GOP Senator right now.

Okay, let’s not get ridiculous.

Go down the list

After Collins, Mitt, Murkowski, I guess Toomey, Graham, Sasse, you’re in crazy town

I don’t want to give Republicans a face-saving way out where they can pretend they tried to help Trump. I want to give them a choice to save democracy and dare them to pick wrong.

Yes because despite the crazy act the vast majority are on board with Mitchs agenda and nobody is better at it than Mitch nor are many as safe as Mitch and be allowed to do so much unpopular shit.

Plus Mitch keeps the donors rolling in. If they go full crazy they probably lose a good chunk of them.

Most of these guys are still establishment hacks, some are doing political calculations and acting crazy because they need the maga support badly or wanna run for president or something, but for the most part they just want tax cuts and for the rich to get richer and awesome lobbyist jobs in retirement.

Yes, “with all due respect” and “respectfully” are now better thought of as bizarro world constructs.

Trump sounded at turns confused and meandering. At one point, he referred to Kemp as “George.” He tossed out several different figures for Biden’s margin of victory in Georgia and referred to the Senate runoff, which is Tuesday, as happening “tomorrow” and “Monday.”

lol

Also, ONE TIME

Trump also told Raffensperger that failure to act by Tuesday would jeopardize the political fortunes of David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, Georgia’s two Republican senators whose fate in that day’s runoff elections will determine control of the U.S. Senate.

Trump said he plans to talk about the fraud on Monday, when he is scheduled to lead an election eve rally in Dalton, Ga. — a message that could further muddle the efforts of Republicans to get their voters out.
