I did? I acknowledged your nitty objection that sometimes executives could pardon an actually innocent person not convicted of a crime, in very rare cases. I can’t actually think of another case besides the hypothetical instance of Assange, but whatever.
Obviously it’s not a consequential inconsistency – the point of my post is that presidents pardon criminals as a general rule. Because criminals are the ones in need of pardons. Obviously that’s true and your nitty objection doesn’t have any bearing on that.
Maybe it is nitty, but you still want to have it both ways. Assange seemed very important to you before. Whatever is right.
