i hope you are trolling. but even if you are, this is perpetuating the false narrative that 1) trmp is somehow genuine in this request, 2) nancy and chuck did not want $2k for everyone, and 3) this entire negotiation was not torpedoed by mnuchin and mcconnell every day since the summer.
yes on the surface $2k is more than $600 that was in heroes act, yet it was important for democrats in congress to try to pass something anyway because there is a pandemic crisis.

Solving it is extremely simple.
You just give it to EVERYBODY and then tax it back on 2020 income. So those making over whatever in 2020 would pay it back with their taxes.

Wait, are you saying we should be giving the money to people and not corporations? We should give them money that they can spend to live and will move its way up to the corporations anyway rather than give it to the corporations who will share crumbs at most?

I mean, I think I’m onboard the no means testing it train, but back-end means testing doesn’t work either. Now you’ve got a ton of people (who aren’t objectively rich and may actually need the money!) who may not realize that they just got a loan that they’re going to have to pay back.
