She’ll be at a couple family gatherings a year, we don’t see each other otherwise but used to keep in touch on FB. She’s Puerto Rican and somehow became EXTREMELY Trumpy after Hurricane Maria, I would have guessed she was liberal before that. Her mother lost her home and had to move to Florida, it took a couple months to find out if her father survived (he did) because of lost communications to his town.
To this day, I cannot understand what happened to her. I guess Fox News and Facebook algorithms.
I’m very close to most of them and they’re great people and some of them are very important to me.

Usually it’s denying leave to appeal. As in: Someone is asking the court for leave (meaning for permission) to appeal something. They are denying that permission.
