Outside of Bill Barr, Brian Kemp is the least sympathetic crook to get turned on by Trump in this whole thing. At least these other Republicans who Trump is mad at took some sort of proactive steps to simply do their job in a way that Trump saw as betrayal; it seems that all that Kemp has done to gain his ire is to fail to do what he’s literally helpless to do. On one hand, I understand why that would potentially gain more sympathy. But I don’t look at it that way, because I don’t trust for one split-second that Kemp wouldn’t sell the country down the river if he actually had a way of stealing Georgia away for Trump. He just doesn’t, so his hands are tied, and he sort of gets to play at honorably doing his job. I love that he’s probably getting primaried now.
Incidentally, I love how ridiculous it is that Trump is blaming him for failing to steal this for him. “You’re the Governor, therefore you should be able to stop this.” You’re the President, you fucking idiot. By your logic that the head of state is magically all-powerful no matter what the Constitution or laws say, why the hell are you not just stealing this for yourself?

This is of course the standard thing where Trump misreads but then pretends he meant to do it. It’s part of his “never admit even the tiniest mistake” philosophy.
But more importantly it demonstrates that the completely insane and incoherent nonsense being spewed at this rally was actually a prepared text that was loaded into the teleprompter!
