Gary Johnson voters, the actual ones, not the ones who said that to pollsters and on 2p2 (cough cough awval, cough Rara) voted for Biden by most indications.

I’ve always wondered if this is what people think that smart is.

I don’t like it if people say I’m smart. It feels dismissive. And besides, what do they know about it?

i don’t trust the gop to write social net regulation, so when it happens i’m going to blame tulsi.

but some form of repeal of sec 230 does need to happen. does anyone know of any proposals or ideas around this?

Does the DC AG file state or federal charges?

Ivanka is in real trouble here.

Seems like it should be considered state law?

The hits just keep on coming. Maybe Lawbros will get the last laugh.

Pope Hat said on a podcast trumps legal fees are like $50 million a year, he’s gonna have to do a lot of grifting to pay for the endless litigation.

This is a LOT of damages…

The lawsuit could pose a significant financial threat to Mr. Trump and his family. If the plaintiffs’ lawyers win approval of class-action status, any potential judgment would encompass every person who paid rent in more than 14,000 rent-regulated apartments since 1992.

I wonder if some of this stuff stems from Cohen-like shenanigans. Wasn’t the woman in the top picture already identified as an actress?

JBro is right. The DC AG is the local authority, and charges can probably be brought in local courts. There are some weird areas unique to DC where the Feds have been given concurrent/exclusive jurisdiction over crimes that are handled by state authorities in other parts of the country, but the DC AG should be able to charge local crimes if he wants to.

As a prospective member of the jury pool, I probably shouldn’t say anything else :)

So can the DC mayor issue pardons?

edit, nope:

Only the President has authority to pardon D.C. Code offenses. Eligibility, effect, and process for presidential pardon are all the same as for federal offenses. See Federal profile. 1

Hence I think this is why the DA is doing a civil suit. Can’t pardon those.

Good catch. Man, a little DC Statehood sure would be nice…

We can’t be too cocky. This only passed along party lines 4-3. Shame on those 3.
