The 2024 Hurricane Season - Helene Heading to FLA Panhandle

I thought it was near impossible for any UK football player to replace Jared Lorenzen as my favorite UK player of all time. But dammit Will Levis is now at least #2

In December…

I can’t say what should be done to these managers

Seems deserving of a bump.

This thing could be quite nasty.

Nuke it. If that doesn’t work, use the magic sharpie to redirect.

I’m sure Desantis will be all over the response.

From a quick read, Tampa seems very vulnerable to surges and flooding. They’re going to see a huge one here, and it looks like it’s going to do what Harvey did to Houston and just sit there while dumping rain for days. Brutal.

I’m about an hour east of Tampa, it’s not a great feeling.

He’s going to send the hurricanes to Democrat cities. THAT’LL SHOW 'EM!

The current forecast track for Hurricane Ian puts all of the Tampa Bay region on the right side of the storm, which would see winds push water northward into Tampa Bay, maximizing the inundation from storm surge. The current storm surge forecast for this area is up to 10 feet.

If this storm track and intensity materializes, he warns residents that “this is a near worst case approach angle coming in from the south and west and stalling,” Rhome said. “With it slowing down, this would be a near worst case approach angle.”

The forward speed of the storm as it passes Tampa on Wednesday into Thursday is less than 5 mph — about 1/3 of the current forward speed of Ian. This slow speed, in combination with the intensity of the storm could be devastating for this region.

Quick, somebody paint a bulls-eye Mar a lago.

Last I read, a shift less than 24 hours out is very unlikely, so they would have to see a major course correction in the next 12 hours to avoid major damage

Eagerly awaiting the discussion on how we shouldn’t rebuild low lying areas of Florida and move them to the “mainland” after this one.

I mean we definitely shouldn’t spend taxpayer money to rebuild homes/businesses on low-lying coastal areas that are going to get wrecked again in five years.

But we totally will.

Gonna spend trillions endlessly rebuilding the Villages but green new deal is way too expensive.

The Villages will be ok. Tampa is going to be very very bad. Parts of downtown flood during regular rain storms.

More proof there is no god.

There is a God, he’s just a deplorable asshole. Its all in the old testament.

Yeah, this is close to a worst case scenario for that entire region. I mean, worse would be if it hit as a category 4 or 5, but this is still very very bad.
