Remember the choke fest that was the 2020 us open final

So weird to see someone just so composed at 19

Lol nick

Yeah, I remember it well. I’m glad Thiem got one though. It wasn’t a French, but at least it was a major. That was the only good thing about it.

Pour one out for the GOAT

End of an era and the beginning of the end of THE era.

Sigh. My triceps tendon feels much better but now I have bursitis with a sac of fluid on my elbow.

Near total arm rest, starting with 10 days. Have to wear a compression sleeve as much as possible. Hoping to avoid the needle, apparently elbows are notorious for getting infected.

Grrrr. But I’m not hanging it up long term like Roger.

A few tears were shed at our house

PAIN

federer retiring is right (his knees are shot) but man the feels, even if he’s not the GOAT in tennis overall who cares, nobody at that high of a level professionally has ever been close to the class he showed

“It’s very normal,” says Dr. Mark Kovacs, Ph.D., a performance physiologist and researcher who has worked with numerous elite players.

Yes very normal to see five mafiosos orchestrate and conceal the mixing of a mid-match drink from the stands.

Naomi Osaka has figured out how to become the richest female athlete without ever playing her sport. What a gig.

isn’t counting whatever she lost with FTX, but yeah turns out she has some businesses or a chunk of them or something that did quite a bit of that I guess, at least I wouldn’t believe she got that in endorsements.

I think a lot of that money still is endorsements, though she does have a bunch of her own brands as well.

They haven’t figured out yet that she has no interest in playing tennis anymore.

And a lot of her endorsement money comes from the Japan side, which is always strange to me because I don’t know of a single person here who is a fan of hers.

So the forehand is back and now the backhand is missing. C’mon tennis gods, I mean wtf.

Good to see Novaxx back in his natural environment, crushing souls at the AO.

I hate watched the first 3 games of the 3rd set.

he’s the greatest of all time, need to get past your hate and embrace the inevitable. Reminds me of the late nineties Bulls, once I gave in and just started rooting for them I enjoyed the NBA way more.

I was going to bet on Novaxx to win the AO but the line I found was -130. He was the favorite over the field…I don’t think I’ve ever seen that in a 128 man tennis tournament. Insane.
