This is a pretty close match for two guys who aren’t really that close

The difference in fatigue levels is insane. Dude is serving 20% to 69% now.

Ya, Tiafoe looks ded

That lob holy shit. Might win 30 majors

Of course Nadal’s doctor is in this guy’s box.

Pretty much everybody in tennis on PEDs and nobody’s doing anything about it, right?

They are doing something about it, they’re clapping vigorously.

Who cares if they are doping. It’s been a great 20 years.

Prescient!

I don’t know how common this is, but Alcaraz is the first tennis player I have ever noticed whose dominant arm is visibly more muscularly developed than his other arm. I don’t know if I was just seeing things or if it is common among tennis players and I never noticed it before.

FYP.

As long as I’ve been watching tennis (a long time though not much recently), players’ tennis arms have appeared significantly more defined than their non-tennis arm.

Yeah, it’s entirely possible I just haven’t been paying attention. I don’t know if Alcaraz’s is particularly noticeable or just standard.

My team won sectionals today! I’m not in the top playing group but I was there for moral support and taking care of captain duties so he could focus on his match.

We were 3-0 going into the last match today. We still needed to win to get to 4-0 due to the tie breaker rules.

we split singles and first doubles which meant we had to sweep second and third doubles.

Both went to a third set, which for us old guys is a 10 point tie break instead of a full set.

We got up quick in 2nd doubles and close it out 10-7. 3rd doubles was a dogfight. We were mostly up 1 point or tied but then faced a match point at 8-9. At 10-10 our guy hit a great forehand return up the line for a clean winner. At 11-10 we played a dipping shot, they popped up the return and our guy put it away.

Pretty exciting.

I’m not traveling to nationals due to a planned anniversary trip.

So no one is watching this final?

Alcaraz is a beast and this feels like the beginning of a new era. Fastest player I’ve ever seen.

I’m not ready to crown his ass yet. I don’t see big-3 level dominance from him yet.

19 yo Nadal was much more dominating in his 1st major. Then again, this may not be Alcaraz’s best surface.

Same for Swiatek but wimmin’s tennis is so random
