Tennis anyone?

He has legit multiple major talent. It’s all about can he mentally hold up.

He will get a couple but no way does he approach 5 unless he massively changes his behavior.

Lol Maggie Court still as jimmy-rustled as ever

If “no way he will win 5 slams” is some kind of insult or bad thing is beyond my scope.

We saw a heap of talented players that reached #1 like Roddick, Hewitt, Safin only win a couple majors each.

Don’t let the absurd dominance of the big 3/4 (plus Agassi and Sampras) cover up the fact how insanely difficult it is to win a Slam or two.

  1. I am giving him credit for having an exceptional talent that could win many majors. Not 2-3 here or there but someone on par with the McEnroe and Agassis of the world.

  2. If he continues on his current path he will both not perform consistently in individual majors AND likey that his behavior short circuits the length of his career.

He’s got to win a couple on talent alone. He is doing things with a tennis ball that seems rare to me.

Im Not saying winning a major or say 3 majors is not impressive. I just think his skills are capable of more, especially in this era on the back end of the big three GOATS. Nsome of your examples were limited by their peers. We shall see what he achieves.

He’s probably the best grass court player after Nole and Nole can’t play forever.

Speaking of playing forever, what’s the deal with Fed? Has he officially retired yet? I don’t think he has, but maybe I missed it. Is he just planning on coming back to do some sort of farewell tour to get some standing ovations and get beaten by some scrub in the second round?

He’s supposed to be back post Open

So he’s gonna play the Australian Open?

That’s the plan. But this was a few months back

Play some masters in Asia after the open and be back for the AO

Tiafoe. When is the last time an American male made it this deep?

Isner in 2018.

If he makes the semis, he’ll be the first since Roddick lost to Fed in the final 16 years ago.

Michael Chang-ing it up on hard courts like Alcaraz is doing used to be the fastest track to the glue factory.

ESPN really ramps up the Jingoism whenever an American is involved. Openly cheering for Pegula nonstop during this match.

Tapped out in the second set. Why do they do that normal people can’t stay up until 2am!

It’s nuts.

The one time I went in person we did both Day and Night sessions on Ashe because we got to see Nadal and Federer in the same day.

Ashe had 2 women’s matches go the distance, then Rafa was the last Day match, and managed to play an easy 4-setter in 3.5 hours because he plays at a snail’s pace. That pushed the night session start back from 7PM to like 9PM. Federer also won in straight sets and that match took like 2:25. So after all the post-match interviews and intermission and such, Madison Keys took the court to start warmups at right around midnight.

Also, we need an Icarus style investigation into the Spanish Tennis Federation.

Both Rafa and Alcaraz coming out here looking like they have 10+ years of weight training at age 19.
