How the fuck do serious recreational tennis players not understand etiquette when crossing a court with a match in play (all USTA league stuff). The idiot pickleball players are one thing, but the morons that messed up my match last week deserve Le guillotine.
Playing on the first court with the only door access to four courts. The guys wanting to warm up for the next match come all the way to the gate and only stop if we give them a dirty look. We ask them to hurry up. This one asshole runs two steps and then saunters the rest of the way. Many more recent examples.
They could have stopped a polite 20 feet from the door and we would have been happy to wave them in between games or if we had to retrieve stray balls.
If I stop posting it’s cause I’m in county for assault with a tennis racket.

alcaraz has gotten my attention
He beat Nadal and Novax on clay. That’s pretty awesome.
So I got roped into the wife’s historical society’s annual dinner. A guy from here that descends from a big Pennsylvania name also had a long career in Hollywood. Small tv parts, lots of voiceover work. I am the host of the after dinner chat with this gentleman.
He heard I play tennis. He said his neighbor took pity on him and invited him to hit once in awhile.

How did they need 4 hours for 4 sets when 2 sets went 6:2?
Nadal has been a notoriously slow player (in terms of taking his time between points, not running speed obviously).
Every game the first two sets was a mega battle.
Yeah some of the games in this match lasted forever.
Coco vs Swiatek for the women’s final will be great! They both seem like great characters who have worked hard to get where they are at a young age. A much more compelling story than last year’s US open final.

Not sure why but I expect Swietak to roll but will be rooting for Gauff.

Swiatek is on a 35 match winning streak or something crazy like that, and has lost only 2 sets in that span. My money is on her as well, but I hope Coco can make it interesting.
