People were given a free moment. No one made them list it. No one made them list it well below the going rate. They’re all people who have held cryptokitties accounts for months, so they know how this system works as much or more than we do.

Also, it’s a big pet peeve of mine when people throw around the world ‘ponzi scheme’ to refer to cryptocurrencies without staying power when a ‘crypotcurrency’ in the top10 marketcap for a short spell was an actual ponzi scheme. Like, come on gang, let’s at least try to be precise if we’re gonna act like we know what we’re talking about.

A lot of people use “ponzi scheme” to mean “any investment you might lose money on.”

That’s a blank statement in my view. I don’t think we are even talking about the same ‘stuff’ that has happened.
It’s super annoying because a lot of people actually make a lot of money in ponzi schemes. They wouldn’t get off the ground if that didn’t happen!

Topshot gave out 15k copies of a KAT card yesterday to people who held a CryptoKitties account or some shit.
Each pack had 3 different copies of that card because reasons.
As expected, those people who received a free sum of money instantly sold the card and continuously undercut each other. At the same time there were a couple 100s of people trying to buy that card, at different rates.
Our boys goofy and josh here picked off probably more then a dozen combined and instantly flipped them for anywhere between 50%-500% roi.
The card eventually tanked again because the flippers attempted to get rid of it and no one who received the card as a gift wants it instead of money.
at the end you got a very good representation of everything that TopShot trying to claim they are not.
No one was interested in the collectible itself.
It serves no utility even within the game.
Bots and human androids cashed in at the expense of less successful humans.

You’re always making the smart and healthy, even if self-serving, market moves and somebody else, some fucking moron, is always fucking everything up. It leads to people saying, without a hint of self-awareness, shit like, “Wow, all these idiots sold off and crashed the market, good thing I did the smart thing and Took Profits in the middle of it.”
