Wow. Is Idris younger than I thought then?

Thought he was in his early 50s

Looks like it’s test-astrcutre week!

It is pretty fascinating how every day he gets a little bit more serious about it. Just a couple days ago, he said he hadn’t gotten tested because he had no symptoms. Now he’s all like, “Even if you don’t have symptoms, you could still have it.”

It’s still funny how disengaged he is when he reads from a script. He doesn’t give a fuck beyond how this affects the stock market.

Interesting… South Korea leading the world on this.

Did they even have a pharmacy? Was that on the Canadian version?

I miss smarmy, dickish 80s gameshow hosts. Dude would always be like wtf, obv the treat that licks your delight is mr ho ho marshmallows. The $5000 was right there.

Trebek was even a dick revealing the puzzle on Classic Concentration.

Has this been posted? Lockdown starts tomorrow at 12:01 a.m. until at least April 7th.

The directive begins at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday and involves San Francisco, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Marin, Contra Costa and Alameda counties

So, bit of a bummer over here in the uk if this tweet is anything to go by (Whipple is science editor at The Times, Cobra is the acronym for our national emergency committee, chaired by the PM) :

I guess we’ll be moving to scenario (2). How comforting.

Mexico City still relatively normal. Stocked up at the supermarket and it’s about 3x more busy, but still plenty of TP and non-perishables. I hear schools will be shut down on the 20th so they’re taking things more seriously, but I fear it’s already way too late and things will get pretty bad here in a week or 2.

Good news from my friend moving across country. The tests from Mississippi on her husband came back negative. She thinks he got a sinus infection from putting tap water in his CPAP.

I actually know someone who got tested! I feel special.

To people wondering where to stream Contagion online:

I used CinemaxGo. I have HBO through my AT&T fiber TV package, but not Cinemax, and my AT&T login worked.

I believe MaxGo is the only place to stream it legally without buying it via Amazon, iTunes, etc.

Talk to your local Publix, find out what day and time their paper product order usually comes in and plan on camping out in the store for about an hour that day during that time window.

I did it yesterday.

On Friday they told me the trucks come in around 10 a.m. Sunday, yesterday by 10:30 they’d rolled out a pallet to the back aisle to hand out.

Publix Guy told me the truck was coming and when, just that he can’t say for sure that tp will be on it.

Guy in a work meeting today say he thinks the WHO should file a lawsuit against China for creating the virus, multiple people nod in agreement and mention that they think it was man made by the Chinese.

just got an email saying they’re likely going to shut down the research labs at my university this week. we were told to finish up any experiments and preserve our specimens for long term (3 week+) storage.

you’re probably thinking: are they going to transition to doing covid testing or research? well i hope so but no word on that at all
