President Trump on Saturday morning appeared to contradict his top diplomat, tweeting that he has been “fully briefed” and suggesting that “it may be China” that’s responsible for the breaches.
“The Cyber Hack is far greater in the Fake News Media than in actuality,” Trump tweeted, tagging Pompeo. “I have been fully briefed and everything is well under control.”
Trump also speculated with no evidence that the hacks may also have included “a hit on our ridiculous voting machines during the election, which is now obvious that I won big.” Twitter flagged that assertion, saying that “multiple sources called this election differently.”
There are people on this very board who still lol the trump Russia connection. Just amazing.

the usual excuses for why he defends putin over america aren’t even at play. this hack seemingly has nothing to do with him personally. his personal pride wrt the election is not at stake in this topic. and yet he still does PR damage control for putin, like, why?

I agree with this, but an implication of being a stupid narcissist level 1 thinker is that you’re a walking invitation to be manipulated by someone smarter. So Trump is undoubtedly entangled in a bunch of “plots” where he’s been duped, there is likely a fair number of connections to Russia there.

“We detected unusual activity with a small number of internal accounts and upon review, we discovered one account had been used to view source code in a number of source code repositories,” the firm said in a blog post.
The hackers did not have permissions to modify any code or engineering systems, Microsoft said, adding “our investigation further confirmed no changes were made. These accounts were investigated and remediated.”
