Probably a negotiated lower amount with Giuliani using bankruptcy as leverage. When you get a verdict that large against an individual you’re never getting all of it.

There is no way they settled for less than a million. The lawyer would be a moron to do that given how much the judge hated Rudy - and I have seen no reporting indicating this. Rudy was almost certainly going to have to give up his NY apartment and likely also his Florida condo - each worth millions, so for them to agree to let him keep that he would have had to make a substantial payment.
It appears the Florida homestead exemption might protect his condo from bankruptcy. So if you were using bankruptcy to leverage the settlement that might significantly reduce how much the other side would think they were going to get. You also have to figure rudy has lots of other creditors, some of which will have higher priority in a bankruptcy than this judgment.
Rudy filed for bankruptcy and it was dismissed by the court with an order than he couldn’t file again for one year.
What are the odds someone decided to pay his bill for him?
My under a million number was thinly sourced and half remembered. I don’t know the real number, but it’s low. Nothing Rudy has done in the case suggests to me he has significant assets.
BTW is there any whiff that Trump supports Rudi in some way? Even if only by bitching how unfairly he is treated? Haven’t heard anything.
