I love the short tracks. Mangled hunks of metal banging around the track in a continuous line of cars. The big tracks are really only interesting for the wrecks.
Road courses >> short tracks >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> intermediate/super speedway tracks
It was a terrible decision to put so many cookie cutter intermediate tracks on the schedule and also seemed like all the interesting drivers retired all around the same time (Stewart, Gordon, etc)
I used to watch all the races, watched the speed charts, and listened to Tony Stewart’s radio from like 2005 to 2010, but haven’t watched a full race in a decade.
I think those bigger, boring tracks are for the fans that were forced to make the tough decision to stop drinking Bud Light earlier this year.

It’s been fun when they’ve run the open-wheeled, Indy cars on oval speedways. It’s like watching a high-speed chariot race.
