Riverman’s Las Vegas Trip Report

Fish tax. If we stop paying it, they’ll stop coming.

It’s veal parm.

I’m losing every hand but not really getting killed. Just whiffing everything. I’m playing 1/3 because the Wynn 2/5 is 6+ pros per table. I hate knowing I’m -EV.

Still eating well though!

How on earth do human beings sit behind other human beings watching poker for hours and hours? I’m bored out of my mind and I’m playing in the game!

Played today for a few hours with a girlfriend sitting behind her bf. I’m sure that’s a healthy relationship.

I couldn’t stand that. I’d want to tell him off for all of his bad plays! Plus I would be itching to play.

I’ve probably posted this before but my ex wanted to sit behind me and watch. Like it was her idea completely. I only did it once because it looks so terrible but yeah some people are into it I guess.

Imagine grinding 2/5 for a living in Vegas. Absolute vapid and empty existence.

Yeah it would be pure misery. And the games are super aggressive, so it has to be high variance and therefore stressful.

I could actually see my wife wanting to do this but it would stress me out and I would hate it.

If I could sit behind Phil Ivey and watch him play nosebleed stakes in Bobby’s room. I’d probably do it for a few hours minimum.

Of course, the experience Riverman is describing is not quite the same.

I mean, it’s usually a girl who is out of the guys league but he clearly has $

Live poker is like that space travel paradox where you take one orbit then find out 8,000 years have passed on Earth. It would be marginally more tolerable done as 6max but GTFO with full ring NLHE–that isn’t poker.

Thank god NFL is tomorrow, I don’t think I can take another day of grinding. I actually went to the gym today in Las Vegas, did not think that would ever happen.

Rsig’s props are up if you’re looking for free money.

Link?

Thanks, gives me a reason to walk to west gate tomorrow, assume they have the best/most props.

Live poker as 6 max would just dry up all the fish. The bad players arent all idiots.

Dude, the player pool has been over fished worse than sushi grade tuna. The “bad” 2/5 players would have been solid winners when I actually took poker seriously.

No limit games are just trash now. Mason wasn’t and isn’t wrong that no limit is bad for the long-term viability of poker but unfortunately it killed fixed limit before it takes poker down entirely. In a decade nothing will be worth playing even if you’ll be able to eek out a meager earn.
