RFK Jr Should Not Be Taken As a Serious Anything

Someone who voted for Trump because they were anti-establishment and now think he is too establishment.

This - plus the super anti-vaccers and other conspiracy theorists (lots of overlap with anti-establishment types). Whereas Trump dabbles in this, RFK mainlines it.

the kennedy clan owes us one after reagan

He wants the NIH to stop studying infectious diseases. Also, apparently try to force scientific journals to republish retracted studies about things like vaccines, Ivermectin, etc. What could possibly go wrong?

My opinion of Cheryl Hines has been greatfully modified.

RFK is not going to cater to voters to the left of Biden on Israel.

Hating vaccines is such an odd thing to base one’s entire life work and world view.

Interestingly enough, the smallpox vaccine that RFK jr got as a kid forced him to appear on yesterday’s Epstein flight logs. True story.

TBF, if they switched it to just hating needles, I’d totally be on board.

His worldview seems more about hating corporations as controlling government and being behind various conspiracy theories. His environmental record comes for opposing the fossil fuels industry. His anti-vaccine sentiment is founded in knee-jerk opposition to Big Pharma. Anti-vaxx just gets him more attention so he leans into it.

I think he’s basing his world view and life’s work around how awesome it feel to be righteously indignant about something that the “mainstream” insists is wrong, but that KNOW is right and they just refuse to see it. I can understand how someone could get caught in that feedback loop.

What if the only thing you knew about medicine was the Tuskegee Experiments, then would it be so weird, Mr Virtue Signal Man?!?!

Its pretty symbolic. Its penetrative, its “against your will”, its a load of long science word chemicals cooked up by so called smart people and no normal person could ever figure out whats in them. You’re losing control of your own bodily automomy to the state and a bunch of nerds.

You cant really get mad that nearly all the true levers of power have been abstracted away from democratic control into the hands of elitle private bodies. Because no one is talking about that and you wouldnt even have the language if you wanted to. But you can map that feeling onto something you are already kinda nervous about (needles) and that everyone on your favebook feed is talking about.

On one hand he blames the ad on the Super PAC and appears to distance himself from it.

Otoh, the SuperPAC ad is currently his pinned tweet.

[It’s almost like it was a bad idea to create a mechanism that allows politicians to circumvent campaign finance laws and maintain plausible deniability about questionable ads]
