RFC: Permaban Sabo?

Yes, it is. It’s also important that the poll isn’t specifically setup in a way that everyone knows is nonbinding.

Careful now, you’re starting to sound like an anti-captain. Let’s not forget that the ridiculous RFC process was set up to placate the captains who were afraid of overzealous mods.

This was not “invalidated on procedural grounds.” Otatop merely pointed out that anyone could have made the request to an admin to start the poll after 3 days. The fact that more than 3 days have elapsed does not invalidate the RFC. A user has now messaged an admin. That admin should now create a poll as to the wording. There’s really no reason to fight this, it seems pretty likely Sabo has the votes to stay unbanned.

The reason to “fight” it is people are simultaneously asking for this drama to stop and also proposing a byzantine 10 day process as the solution. It’s the exact same reason I just unbanned jmakin when you started your RFC, it was obvious where the polls in that thread were headed and there was no point waiting another week when I could just click a button and be done with it.

Personally, I’m more bothered by your frank dishonesty that came with this poll and process.

It’s weird that the complaint about Sabo’s ban has been that the agreed upon procedure had not been followed and now those whose complained are fine with not following the agreed upon procedure when it suits their goals.

The right point in time to criticize the procedure is not right in the middle of it because there has been plenty of time to do so when it was instated and many months after.

Neither I nor Jmakin asked you to short-circuit the RFC process. In fact as I recall a moderator prematurely closed the RFC thread. You then unbanned him so it was moot. However that was all you.

You want broader mod powers and to get rid of rhis stupid rfc process? i support that! But good luck getting that RFC past the Captains who are just here for the lulz.

OK, if you insist I’ll strictly follow all procedures and go reopen that thread and repermban jmakin.

Gimme a minute.

Seems like a pretty big abuse of your mod powers to me to do that at this point but you do you.

I support this 100 percent.

Eh, the decision is kinda dumb but badgering the mods isn’t going to help. Let’s all just move on imo.

as MLY would say:

let’s move on.

Sabo was banned by mod action and confirmed by a community vote. Jmakin was not. Again, this sort of dishonesty is super annoying, and insulting to everyone dumb enough to pay attention.

I’ll make up my own mind about what I find insulting if that’s alright with everyone.

That’s an unfair characterization. Every once in a while he votes in a poll.

If cuse wants fewer replies I guess he should just post less.

I didn’t reply once to him for almost a year!

Lol.

Edit: Now that is the third time today I’ve seen a poster use a completely superfluous “basically.” Melkerson, you started a trend!

I’d like to call a witness by the name of nunnehi, who was basically stalked, followed around, attacked and perpetually harassed by cuse in several different threads.

In the event of a no show, there remains ample material evidence of this, on the forum.

Your honour.

Victor has actual opinions about politics and posts them, which seems like the point of this forum.

Other people you might complain about? Maybe not.

Please don’t use this thread to rehash old/ongoing grudges. In particular, let’s not drag in people who don’t want to be involved. (deleted an @ for someone who I’m sure does not want to be involved).
