I was under the impression that fancy wedding cakes were aged before the wedding (like prime beef). And that people save the cake to eat on their anniversary. Did I make this shit up?
In the freezer. You don’t just leave it out. And my memory of my wedding cake was that it was freshly baked.
I just saw a tiktok where this chef who dry ages meat for restaurants had some that the person decided they did not want and was aged over 550 days. She was able to salvage like a quarter pound of meat from like 32 pounds of beef and then ate it.
