Posters who've changed your mind and why

I’m still not sure about the AI Agents advertised by Woody Harrelson and Matthew Mc-not gonna bother trying to spell his last name.

But the AI coding tools seem to have hit an inflection point about last Nov/Dec.

Computer programming is in a bad position to be overtaken by AI in that you have a fairly well-defined correct outcome (does it do what it’s supposed to do?). It’s still messy, but more well-defined than a lot of other office jobs.

What’s NMNM

It was me. You’re welcome.

The alternate forum that doesn’t let you or me post there

The fact that this forum splintered off of a poker forum because the owner didn’t agree with our political views, and then itself splintered off two other sub-forums because the in-fighting got wildly out of hand between groups who 90% agree on politics, should be studied.

Yup, all pretty interesting. I’m sure the historians will take notice.

Mason was going to write a history book about it but couldn’t find any Wikipedia articles

Ironic, but my post in the AM thread reminded me that it was you who taught me that conservatives give more to charity than liberals and that a lot organizations that help poor people are conservative-coded.

I’m sure a ton but I’m gonna be honest, outside of a few posters who have very distinct personalities, a lot of you guys blend together.

I’m not sure it inspires hope that a lot of people who are very kind in their personal lives manage to have brutal politics.

That’s just because you’re not paying attention. I can name some specific stuff about every poster itt except one.

You’re the meme guy. I always get excited for a new batch.

Microbet - half-hearted anarchist ;p - I know IRL

Alex - more centrist, not squeamish about going at it with the lefties

Clovis - swinger, feels strongly about water rights, never lets go of a bone

ViridianDreams - Florida

ggoreo - mod, almost left over the ■■■■ thing, glad he didn’t

geewhysee - still some libertarian leanings, mostly a lefty now, has lots of empathy

Rugby - lefty but not dogmatic about it, also has deep feels

CS04 - good photographer, gets mad at me for going on guided photo tours

bbb7979 - big AI coding proponent, leads a team of people in something tech-related

Marksman - Cowboys

wiper - snarky, goes on multi-post rants sometimes

nunnehi - works editing sound, also goes won’t let go of a bone. Clovis vs. nunnehi = smoke 'em if you got 'em

And that just leaves SPIFF. Sorry SPIFF I recognize the sn but have no distinct memories. Guessing you had a different name on 2p2 given that even though you don’t post a ton, you know your forum history.

That’s not right.

Was the libertarianism back on 2 + 2? I think of geewhysee as a socialist. It would be slightly more unusual for him to be a libertarian, since he’s from the UK.

mixing and editing sound at the same time

Clovis beefs will probably be at a minimum from this point forward. My life’s got too little time left for that kind of stuff anymore.

I thought he was a poster with initials TD back on 2p2. But I may be mistaken.

Yes, that’s the guy

I didn’t know that, but don’t really remember TD’s politics. Both are from UK which makes sense if they’re the same person.

I’m technically not a swinger but we are splitting hairs.
