Speaking of sriracha, yesterday I went to a Vietnamese place I really like in the Vietnamese area of Orange County. I put a fair amount of sriracha in my Pho. A noodle slipped off my spoon and flung a srirachy drop of soup right in my eyeball. Still worth it!
If I’m not paying I’d go ceviche, bucatini and duck.
Ha! Sriracha makes the food sing. And the eyes sting.
Full disclosure: I’m at the Shake Shack in Madison Park because my pasta sucked. I chose the Estrella pasta, not good. Chicken livers overcooked and sandy. Burger inbound!
I like pappardelle
gem salad, falafel and that pizza I can only see half of but looks good
That menu looks really familiar. But I guess don’t they all. Where are you?
Upland in Madison park.
Went steak tartare followed by estrella pasta. Tatare was good but they offered me bread after I was finished (tf?). Pasta unimpressive as described above.
Did a double smash patty to actually feed me, courtesy of Danny Meyer. Shake Shack on point.
I shoulda gone “Caesar” followed by Cacio. Live and learn.
Beef tartare, chicken liver, salmon
And still Scotland couldn’t win away from home.
Pretty sure that’s one of the generic Windows 10 welcome screen images…
Excessive amount of bootlickers but it’s my first hockey game so still fun
Went hiking through Big Cypress to try and get some more cool shots of pollen patterns in the swamp, there was too much water so I was just hunting around for cool stuff, ended up dropping my new lens in the water. :( tried to dry it out with rice in a bag, but there are spots on the internal lenses, super bummed, so I’m going to have to have it professionally cleaned as a last resort. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Anyway, I did get some cool photos, here’s a sampling:
One thing I absolutely love about cypress swamps and the Everglades are the incredible textures and subtle details. It doesn’t have the same striking monumental landscapes like mountains such as you see in Glacier National Park, rather there are some spectacular other-worldly features hidden in plain sight. That cypress knee is as big as a coffee table. Massive cypress trees covered bromeliads. Spindly, delicate bromeliads clinging to tiny branches. Underwater plants looking like alien life forms. It’s creepy and wonderful all at the same time, and you are the only human in miles. I don’t think there are many places like it on earth.
Those are great!
Where is this? Looks like Alabama or Arkansas.
