Donaghy’s Lookout, Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, Tasmania.
One of those photos that doesn’t capture the scale of the landscape. I posted it partly for politics content. That river you can glimpse is the Franklin. Tasmania runs entirely on hydroelectric power. The Gordon river is already dammed (further downstream). There was an attempt to dam the Franklin for power in the 1980s and the campaign against this was the genesis of the Australian Greens, the political party to which I belong. The Franklin remains wild.
Either a hell of a discontinuity in the mountains in the distance or a glitch in the simulation.
The bit that suddenly juts up?
Here it is on a clearer day from the same lookout.
Well it looks impressive! Lol at 4700 ft above sea level though. I’m sitting at 4500 ft right now.
Big chair!
Usually produces a laugh, all in all not a bad thing as what are windows for… And an experienced driver like myself knows there are far worse things that happen in the back of a taxi.
Edit: Especially in Ireland
Break time lake by my office. There’s a sinkhole that drains it from time to time. It clears my head twice a day.
Interesting setting. Whereabouts is that (roughly)?
North Florida. Walking down there will get a bit too hot in a few weeks. I’ll still do it though.
Seems like mosquitoes might be a problem?
Regardless, pretty view.
Yes, but no more than walking to your car. We’re used to gators, sharks, mosquitos, horse flies, and republicans. The latter are the most dangerous. Mosquitos only seem to show up at dawn\dusk.
In July, the walk down there feels like swimming through air. It’s super humid, hot, and rough, still do it though.
We don’t really have many of any of these here in Seattle, praise the lord lol. And 85 with any humidity at all here makes people whine and whine.
On the upside (lol):
Nice c-clamp.
